The captain’s luck is finally changing. After four years of being lost in space, his starship, The Prayer, has found an inhabitable planet to land on. The whole crew—and his lovers Thomas, Rick, and Zachery in particular—are happy to set foot on terra firma again, not least because the planet comes with plenty of trees to hide behind for those…intimate occasions. But the fertile landscape hides a secret. When the captain finds himself abducted by an alien life form, he’s got limited time to get back to his crew before they succumb to infighting. Only the alien is so very attractive…

The Captain's Encounter contains adult content suitable for mature readers only.

The Captain Encounter Adrift Book 2 edition by TJ Land Literature Fiction eBooks

This book starts where The Captain’s Men left. I liked these better than the previous one. The plot here was a little more solid and it kept some humorous elements I already liked.

The Prayer’s crew start exploring a new land. Now, with some alone time, the guys begin to bond with each other while solving the conflicts they find in the new planet.

In this, the second book of the series, I think some of the issues I had have been mostly solved.
The plot was entertaining. There is a new character introduced to the story, and even not knowing him too much, I think he might have a more important role in the future.
The other characters remain the same. I think some of the spotlight was taken away from the captain and the crew had the opportunity to interact more with each other.
I liked Rick the most. There is some sweetness about this character that the others lack, and I felt a little more attraction for him than the others. The only thing I was troubled about him was some conducts that seemed opposite to the shyness I perceived from him.

One thing I keep thinking of most of this characters is that they should put the hormones aside for a while and start thinking, but no, they just won’t do it. One positive thought on that matter is that I think the sex scenes between them have improve very much. I’m not a big fan of ménages, but this time it worked just fine.

The part I liked the most was the way the relationships start to build. I don’t considered it specially romantic and I don’t see too strong feeling in either of the characters, but I think they are going there, and it’s nice to see where the story will go with all of them.
Overall I think it was a nice story, fun to read and with great characters. It would be better to read it after reading The Captain’s Men.

The Captain Encounter Adrift Book 2 edition by TJ Land Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

This is another great short story by TJ Land in the Adrift series.

In book two, the captain and his crew are finally searching the new plant that could become their home that is so much like earth. Though they are extra careful of their surroundings, they all soon learn that no matter how careful they are there is still danger even if they do not see it. That danger comes in the form of the captain going missing and Rux being the cause of it.

I thoroughly enjoyed this short story. Even with everything up in the air it seems that Thomas, Zachery, and Rick are making moves to become a triad and getting to know one another more then just sex. It seems that they are starting to have some sort of feelings for one another though they have not voiced those feelings, but I was able to feel those emotions they was not voicing yet to each other. In my opinion, Echo is the most observant of all the crew members. Even though he is quite I would be inclined to believe he is the one that holds all of them together, the voice of calm and reason even without having to say a word. In this story you could feel emotions spiraling out of control. The question is, where are those spiraling emotions going to land the captain and his crew.

I honestly believe that Rux is the exact being that the captain needs. The captain feels he cannot show weakness to his crew but Rux has blown all that away. He sees him as no other has so far in my opinion and I believe that there is going to so much to be seen between these to in the upcoming books.

I cannot wait till the next book to find out more about these men. I am also hoping that maybe Echo and Antoine may end up together in the end. They would definitely be a great couple in my opinion.

Wow so many options and variables lay ahead and cannot wait to be able to see if any of things I hope for in this series comes true. Another great book in the Adrift series. Great job once again T.J. Land. Looking forward to more.

The Captain’s Encounter by T.J. Land is the second short story in the Adrift series. This story is HOOOOOOOTTTTTTT!!! T.J. Land doesn’t mess around, getting right down to the decadently dirty business immediately. For this I say thank you!

T.J. LAND DOESN’T MESS AROUND, GETTING RIGHT DOWN TO THE DECADENTLY DIRTY BUSINESS IMMEDIATELY.

When we last left the captain and his randy group of men, The Prayer was hovering over three planets that the second-in-command deemed fit for entry. They’ve been lost in space going on four years after an alien attack.

Second-in-command Antoine and the captain have plans to search the planet. As a scientist Antoine wants to explore and collect everything. The captain just wants to know if it’s safe.

Beautiful Rick, who grows a certain herb in The Prayer’s garden, has a different agenda. He wants to seduce Thomas and Zachary. Individually. T.J. Land does a sinfully delicious job of writing these scenes.

It was fabulous once again to see the complete personality differences of these characters shine through the story. It’s also quite the turn-on to watch Rick work his “magic”. It’s been fun watching these three characters develop in such a short time, mentally and emotionally.

IT’S ALSO QUITE THE TURN-ON TO WATCH RICK WORK HIS “MAGIC”.

We also meet shapeshifting alien Rux, who lives on the planet being explored. He’s been alone for years and only has his cave art to keep him company. When The Prayer lands he intently watches the shenanigans of the crew, and learns, and wants. When the captain is all alone Rux drags him to his lair.

This whole scene had a smile on my face. While the captain wants answers, Rux wants to have sex. Eventually the captain convinces Rux to take him back to his ship. I’m interested to see how Rux’s introduction to the crew is handled by the other members.

There also seems to be a little side story going on that has grabbed my attention. I’m very curious to see where this leads.

Though The Captain’s Encounter is a short story it packs a punch. Nothing is lacking. The storyline is fun and kept me interested. The sex, though. Oh T.J Land, the sex is GREAT!

I have no clue when book three comes out but I’m totally going to pull a Veruca Salt and say that I want it now. (I’ll break out in song and dance if I must!)

If you love sci-fi, aliens, and sexy men then this book is for you.
